Shaye Thyer is a chartered accountant and a financial feminist who helps women founders and CEOs take control of the money.
She spent more than twenty years in financial services — accounting, technology, advisory and business transformation — before starting her CFO advisory practice.
Running her own business has taught her what advising on them never had. The realities facing a woman founder are not comparable to those facing the typical middle-aged male entrepreneur, and the profession built to serve business owners is still built around him. It talks over her, keeps the numbers vague, and leaves her to work it out alone. That is why Shaye now works only with women, and why she has built her practice around now several hundred of them.
With a portfolio of multiple businesses across professional services, ecommerce and product development, Shaye is at the frontline of the same daily challenges her clients face in their businesses. She is not an adviser looking in from the outside. She lives this every day.
Across her client work, the same thing keeps coming up. The woman who can't explain her own margin is almost never bad at her job. She is the one nobody has ever sat down and walked through it with. Not her accountant. Not her bookkeeper. Not the business coach she paid through the nose for. Closing that gap is the work: pricing, cash, tax, and what an owner actually takes home. Delivering profit by design that honors her clients' dreams.
